[impdev] Object backup and RLVa in my 'next' branch

Just a heads up that I've got both Meerkat's object backup feature and
RLVa (Restrained Life) merged into my 'next' branch. There's still
some polishing left for me to do on those, but they should compile and
work now.

I'll continue working on them again on Tuesday after the meetup.
(Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are going to be my "Imprudence
days".)
