[impdev] Release candidates for 1.2?

What are your guys' feelings about doing release candidates for 1.2?
As I see it, there are two kinds of approach:

1) Do release candidates ahead of time, try to fix all the bugs so
that the 1.2 final release is very solid. This is what we've done for
the past two releases.
2) Release 1.2 as it is, then if there are bugs, release 1.2.1, 1.2.2,
etc. until they are fixed.

Either way, I'm still going to push hard to have the 1.2 _final_ (not
RC) released by the end of the month. If we want to do #1, I think we
could release an RC next week Tuesday or Wednesday, then the final one
week afterwards.

Thoughts, opinions?
