You're welcome. :-)

The possible reasons for this a diverse. To narrow them down, it would
be good to know a bit more:

  * Do you experience the same with our builds of Imprudence 1.3.2
    (available at http://wiki.kokuaviewer.org/wiki/Downloads) or only
    with builds you produced yourself?
  * What operating system are you using? (Linux, Mac, Windows, other?
    64bit or 32bit?)
  * Were you trying with a 32bit or 64bit build of the viewer?
  * If you start the viewer from a terminal (Linux or Mac) or enable the
Console Window (in menu 'Advanced'), can you see any related
messages there when trying to start the movie or stream?

AFAIK, the main difference between the SL Viewer and Imprudence in
relation to media playback is that Imprudence uses GStreamer not only on
Linux but on Windows (and Mac?), too, rather than QuickTime. Also,
instead of relying on the system GStreamer as the SL Viewer does, some
versions of Imprudence come with the GStreamer libraries packaged with
the viewer.

You might have more luck with a more recent version (from the 1.4.x
series, currently in beta), which I think uses the system GStreamer.
That would also allow you to install any missing GStreamer plugins
required for a particular file or stream. (Test whether you have the
needed plugins for a given stream by trying to play back in the Totem
media player or on the terminal with gst-launch-0.10 playbin
uri=/<stream URL goes here>/)

Cheers,
Borun
